Traffic & Pedestrian Pattern Updates Passengers should expect lane reductions upon entering terminal property from Brooks Avenue due to a NYSDOT bridge project.  Steel is being installed for the construction of the western canopy.  Contractors finished pouring concrete buttress bases and the barrier wall along the sidewalk adjacent to the baggage claim in front of the terminal.  The west end of the sidewalk is now open.  Existing sidewalk and curb will be removed at the center doors heading east between the open roadway and the terminal to prepare for the installation of the new passenger sidewalks.  Landscaping adjacent to the parking garage continues.  Replacement of light poles with new LED light poles is nearing completion and roadway wayfinding signage is being painted and updated. The Upper Level Departures roadway remains CLOSED until project completion at the end of October 2018.  All traffic must use the Lower Level Roadway for both Arrivals & Departures. Family and friends picking up passengers are highly encouraged to stage in the new Smart Phone Lot, to reduce curbside congestion, until they have been notified that their party is at the curb with luggage ready for pick up at the corresponding numbered column.  For more information on this terminal roadway change, click here.

The Arrivals Level remains impacted with detours for various entrances and exits to the terminal and related crosswalks. Shuttle and Rideshare is taking place at the EAST end of the arrivals roadway, marked with a GREEN #16 at Lower Exit B.  RTS bus pick up and drop off is taking place on Brooks Avenue at Airport exit - pedestrians are able to access the terminal on foot through the short term parking lot.  Valet Operations have been suspended until the Fall of 2018.  Valet passengers may wish to use Premium Parking in the Long Term Ramp Garage during this time.  For more information on Premium Parking, click here

Terminal Update  New food concession, A Taste of Rochester, is being constructed next to newly opened Gusto's Ristorante.  Construction also continues at the entrance to Concourse A and B for the new diner and sports bar as well as the Strong National Museum of Play interactive play zones. Additional steel will be installed for the window system as part of the expansion in the food court. Refinement continues on the newly installed LED lighting que system for assistive communication tied into the flight information display system (FIDS).

Security Update Four lanes of the newly designed passenger security checkpoint remain opened in their permanent location.  Overhead LED Screens have been activated to provide passengers with wayfinding guidance for general boarding and TSA PreCheck lanes.  Work continues on the other side of the passenger security checkpoint to complete the transformation of the center of the terminal. During high volume travel periods, the secondary passenger security checkpoint - “Checkpoint A” will remain operational with two checkpoint lanes near the American Airlines Ticketing counter.  The installation of the new central escalator in the passenger security checkpoint is complete.  The central escalator and stairwork is ongoing.  Terrazzo flooring continues to be installed for the new passenger greeting area.

As a reminder to passengers, please arrive at least Airport 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

Ticketing/Gate Update All Airline ticketing counters remain in their current locations from East to West: United Airlines, Air Canada, Southwest, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Allegiant & American Airlines.  Hearing Loop installation is complete.  Hearing loops are a direct communication to a hearing aid from a wire loop broadcast system.  This system will provide passengers who use hearing aids clear delivery of any public address announcements.  New gate counters and backdrop facades continue to be installed.

Parking Update All parking lots remain open. The ROC Airport Smart Phone Lot is open and operating. This lot is located on Airport Way - the first right hand turn as you approach the terminal from Brooks Avenue and is complete with a large flight information display screen. To reduce roadway congestion family and friends picking up passengers are encouraged to use this lot.
