Today, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo unveiled beautiful, modern designs for a signature canopy that will cover the arrival and departures roads at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). The canopy design will not only keep out the snow in winter months, but it will provide cover from the rain during the other seasons.

In addition to the practical purposes, this canopy design will create a striking view for anyone visiting the airport and will be a welcome addition to the aesthetics of the terminal building. Included with this canopy will be new LED lighting fixtures that will transform what is a functional and beautiful canopy by day into a work of art by night.

Construction of the canopy is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2017 and will be completed in the fall of 2018. This project will have impact on traffic patterns around the airport but those changes will not impact the convenient level of service provided at ROC. The airport will remain open during this entire project!

Be sure to follow the progress at and on social media to learn about traffic pattern changes! We are on Facebook ( and Twitter (@ROCAirport).
